Kogi Releases N4.2bn For Workers Salary, N2bn To LGCs
The government of Kogi State has released N2 billion to the 21 local government councils in the state as their share of the N6.2 billion of the Paris Club refund the state received from the Federal Government. This disclosure was made in a statement issued on Saturday by the Commissioner of Finance, Mr Idris Ashiru, in Lokoja, the state capital. According to him, the remaining N4.02 billion was government’s share of the refund. Ashiru said that N1.716 billion out of the government share had been released for the payment of May and June salaries of teaching and non-teaching staff in tertiary institutions.
